Watch: VACC Sues Sen Leila De Lima on Drugs, De Lima to Sue President Duterte, Critics (Video)

The Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC filed a case against Senator Leila de Lima before the Department of Justice (DOJ) in relation with her alleged involvement in illegal drugs trade inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP). As a response, the neophyte senator said she will sue no less than President Rodrigo Duterte. Watch video below.

Sen. De Lima, who has been always mentioned by the witnesses during the series of House hearing on illegal drugs trade inside the Bilibid, was charged in violation of of section 5 in relation to section 26 (b) of R.A. 9165 the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The case was filed this Tuesday, October 11 by the VACC, led by its chairman, Dante Jimenez.

Aside from De Lima, the other respondents are former justice undersecretary Francisco Baraan III, former Bureau of Corrections director Franklin Jesus Bucayu, high-profile inmate Jaybee Sebastian. De Lima’s former security aides Jad de Vera and Joenel Sanchez, and her former driver Ronnie Dayan, who is also her alleged former lover.

“Sen. de Lima, utilized her power and authority as then Secretary of Justice (SOJ), to abet and even promote the proliferation of massive drug trade inside the Bilibid….Why would Sen. de Lima allow all these iniquitous dealings to propagate inside the NBP? The motive is there for everyone to see.” A statement of the 65-page VACC complaint affidavit reads.

As a response, Sen. De Lima said on the same day that she welcomes the charages but insisted that the VACC should have directly filed the case at the Ombudsman, because the DOJ will also have to file it later to the Ombudsman. The troubled senator noted that DOJ Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II will surely be bias against her, and is the master of fakery.

In addition, Sen. De Lima emphasized that she will file a case against President Duterte before the Supreme Court (SC) next week, to test if there are instances when a incumbent president cannot be sued because of the presidential immunity. Likewise, she said she also plans to file various cases against Sec. Aguirre, and civil cases to some of the critics.
