MANILA, Philippines — A widowed man from Nueva Ecija recently trended in social media for his innovative business of keeping his clients’ eyebrows “on fleek” via his mobile eyebrow salon.
Photos of 78-year-old Lolo Tiyo circulated online after a netizen named Biday Alonso posted photos on her Facebook account showing the old man from General Tinio, Nueva Ecija with his mobile eyebrow salon.
At his old age, Lolo Tiyo runs his eyebrow salon armed only with his bicycle, trusted blade, and a cooler with a sign bearing “Nag-aayos ng kilay.” For P20 pesos, Lolo Tiyo promises his clients #kilaygoals or celebrity-like brows.
The old man also sells “iced buko” on the side to cater to his thirsty clients.
In an interview with ABS-CBN’s My Puhunan to be aired on October 11, Lolo Tiyo said he used to be a barber.
“Masaya ako sa ginagawa ko, lalo na kapag mapapaganda ko ang customer,” the old man said.
Alonso said Lolo Tiyo is eyebrow-conscious people’s “on-the-go superhero.” On the other hand, My Puhunan host, Karen Davila, also took to Facebook to praise the old man for his hard work.
“Marami pong pangarap. Kundi ako magsipag e di gutom ang labas mo,” Lolo Tiyo said.
Lolo Tiyo earned praises from netizens, lauding him for his innovative business. Some netizens also shared their eyebrow experience while others expressed their wish to try Lolo Tiyo’s eyebrow service.
