LOS BAÑOS, Laguna, Philippines – Sept. 16 is a special non-working holiday in this town.
President Duterte through Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea issued Proclamation 29 declaring the holiday to allow residents to observe the town’s 401st founding anniversary.
The town’s foundation day is on Sept. 17, but the President declared the holiday on Sept. 16 on the request of the office of Mayor Cesar Perez.
Among the main events in the anniversary celebration are the foundation program, search for outstanding citizens, Mr. and Miss Los Baños, barangay night and Department of Education Day.
