Mayor Sara Duterte Lost Two of Her Triplets, Only 1 Baby Inside Her Womb Has Heartbeat

Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio announced this Thursday morning, September 8 that she lost her identical twins, and that only one of her triplets inside her womb has a heartbeat. Speaking to local media, the pregnant mayor said that doctor advised her to have a complete rest. Below are some of her statements to ABS-CBN.

“I feel sad but everything happens for a reason so we just have to trust God sa plano niya.” Mayor Sara Duterte was quoted via a tweet by ABS-CBN. The pregnant mayor confirmed that she lost her two babies last Monday, September 4, just three days after the bombing at the Roxas Night Market in Davao City, causing 14 casualties and 69 wounded.

“Lunes, buong araw iyak ako ng iyak. I lost my identical twins [I’ve been crying all day last Monday. Nag-arrest na heartbeat sa identical twins but one is still fighting.” Mayor Sara Duterte told ABS-CBN this Thursday morning. The presidential daughter announced her pregnancy last month, noting that she will still continue to work despite her fragile condition.

Last Monday, Mayor Sara Duterte attended the turn-over ceremonies of Task Force Davao where some high-ranking PNP officials were replaced following the Davao bombing. She also visited the survivors and the wake of the victims, including that of her private nurse, Kristia Gaile Bisnon, and announced a P2-million reward for the arrest of the suspects.

Sara Duterte is the second of the three children of President Duterte to his ex-wife, Elizabeth Zimmerman. She is married to lawyer Manases Carpio, and the couple has two children -Sharky and Stingray. Her eldest brother, Paolo Duterte is the incumbent vice mayor of Davao City. As of posting, the president has not yet commented on the lost of his unborn grandchildren.
