DAVAO CITY — The City Government of Davao has increased by P1 million the reward for anyone who could present information on the culprits behind last Friday’s bombing of the Roxas night market.
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio announced today that the reward was raised to P3 million from the initial P2 million declared on Monday.
The mayor said the additional amount came from the donations of a businessman and a law firm.
“A businessman in Davao City donated P500,000 for the additional reward money and a law firm through Finance Secretary Sonny Diminguez also gave another P500,000,“ Duterte said.
The reward for those who can give information will remain at P1 million while the mayor has allotted P2 million to those who can present the suspects alive to the authorities.
Last Monday, the president’s daughter, said the government wants to see the suspects alive so it could squeeze out valuable information from them such as their purpose, cohorts and other terror plans.
Dutere-Carpio said Davao City residents who have information about the suspects could immediately call Central 911, while those living outside the city could contact 0917-DUTERTE or 0783.
On Wednesday, the Philippine National Police released the artist sketch of the alleged bomber. The suspect was described as a slim man, standing 5’7″ in height and around 30 years old.
Fourteen people were killed in the explosion that occurred along the busy Roxas Street night market in Davao City last Friday. The blast left 70 others injured.
