Pangasinan Rep. Amado Espino Jr. on Tuesday called President Rodrigo Duterte as a “true leader and a gentleman” for apologizing after putting him in the illegal drug matrix that released a month ago.
A month ago, President Duterte revealed a drug matrix and Espino is one of the names appeared on the matrix that allegedly involved in illegal drug trade in National Bilibid Prison.
“I am humbled by the pronouncement of the President today on clearing my involvement on the alleged drug matrix released last August 25, 2016,” The former Pangasinan governor told the press.
On Tuesday, the president apologized to Espino, Provincial administrator Rafael Baraan, and provincial board member Raul Sison for mistakenly implicating them in the illegal drug trade.
Espino also asked the people of Pangasinan to express their gratitude to the President for his sincere apology.
“My family, friends and the people of Pangasinan would like to express our gratitude to the President for being a true leader and gentleman,” said Espino.
“He has my highest esteem for the courageous and bold statement of apology on clearing my name, Raffy Baraan and Raul Sison,” he added.
